Please complete the Online Enquiry above or go to your local Compass Desk in the library or visit Student Services at Floor -1 Macadam, at the Strand campus where the helpful and friendly teams can give you initial information and guidance.

Appointments and drops-in are available across all 3 main sites:

  • We would encourage you to attend a drop-in if you need to speak to someone urgently or want some initial advice, please see here for more details.
  • Appointments must be booked in advance via the Student Services Administrators or The Compass.

Please note appointments are normally reserved for current students, especially at busy time of the year.  Prospective students and recent graduates may be offered an appointment depending on their individual circumstances.

We are open Monday – Friday 9am-5pm and our core service hours are 10am-4pm.  Where necessary we can arrange appointments outside of core hours but this may take longer than our usual service delivery times to arrange.  Please note that we are not open at the weekend, public holidays or when the university is closed and do not respond to email enquiries outside normal office hours. Skype appointments can also be arranged upon request.

  • Money & Housing Advice can be contacted on 0207 848 7002 on Friday afternoons 2pm - 4pm.

NB: These lines will not be open on Bank Holidays or college closure days.

Outside of these hours, we would suggest that you use our online enquiry form to contact us.

Web pages

Our web pages contain information, guidance and practical tips on our most common enquiries and links to more resources and tools.

Generic Wide - page break slimSocial media

We have a number of social media pages which we use to post information and provide students with a forum to share their experiences, swap ideas and interact with each other.  Please note that this is not an appropriate forum to seek individual advice on complex personal issues and these should be directed to us via email, phone and online forms as above

Information for when the service is closed

We are unable to answer queries outside standard opening hours and when the university is closed, but there are a range of public services and alternative advice agencies you can use.

Money, Benefits and Debt

You can speak to your local Citizen's Advice Bureau and other local agencies (check with your local authority) but you may also find these national services invaluable

Be wary of profit making debt advisory services and debt consolidation companies, we would advise you seek assistance from one of these agencies in the first instance:

Housing and Homelessness

Speak to your local Housing Options department, details can be found on your local authority website.

Shelter are the experts in this area and have a well resourced website and dedicated helpline 0808 800 4444

International Student issues

The UKCISA advice line is open from Monday to Friday, 1300 - 1600 hours (UK time).

Outside the UK: +44 20 7788 9214

Inside the UK: 020 7788 9214

There is also a wide range of information and advice available from the UKCISA website
