King's Games Makers

Leslie Murphy

Leslie Murphy, a first year student in the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing & Midwifery, has been selected as a Games Maker commented: ‘I wanted to volunteer because it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of the Games when the UK is hosting. As Games Makers we’re all so lucky to have been chosen and we’re all passionate about sport – it's like a dream come true.

Leslie explained that she worked at the British Swimming Championships at the Aquatics Centre, a test event for the Olympics. She added: ‘I am passionate about the Olympics because an event of this scale does not come along very often and I think London is going to be an amazing host.

‘The volunteers are essential as they are face to face with all the visitors and competitors, and they will set the tone for how well London is perceived as a city and as an Olympic host.’
