Abstract Submissions
We welcome submissions from a wide range of disciplines, and hope to receive papers from historians, surgeons and clinicians, bacteriologists, infection research, and those working in hospital and health care policy and patient safety.
Abstracts should be no more than 400 words, and should state clearly which of the conference's four strands (History; Surgical Practice; Infectious Diseases; Health Policy) they would be situated under.
Headings are optional, although please feel free to use headings if you would prefer. Abstracts should provide a summary of the intended talk, workshop, or seminar, a brief background about yourself as author of the proposal, and should contain clear links or references to Lister's work, techniques, or legacy.
As well as historians, we encourage papers from scientific, clinical, and health service and policy backgrounds, to obtain perspectives on how Lister's legacy has influenced and developed modern-day practice.
If you have any questions about submitting a paper to the conference, please contact Julia Howse or Brian Hurwitz at the Centre for the Humanities and Health, King's College London.
