International partners
Partnership agreements - Memoranda of Understanding (MoU)
Strategic considerations
The College’s Strategic Plan commits King’s to enhance its global position and standing. As part of this aim, different types of partnership with other HEIs and other institutions can serve the College in a variety of ways. Partnerships which enhance research, knowledge transfer, learning and student experience capacities may be appropriate in many cases at departmental level rather than at Institute or College-level. Whether at College, School, Department or Division level, all partnerships should be evaluated using the same quality criteria, as well as following the same quality control processes. What distinguishes the small number of partnerships that are recognised as College-wide is the multi-school breadth of the College’s linkages with such institutions, with College-level partnerships also signifying the College’s close association with universities of comparable international standing in research and teaching.
College-level partnerships
The College strategy is thus to forge a limited number of key partnerships worldwide, which would normally involve strong academic links across at least 3 of the 9 Schools of the College. These partnerships are supported at College-level administratively and financially.
King's College London has established a number of agreements with universities around the world. All the Schools of the College become part of the partnership agreement and it is intended that the Dental Institute will follow up the College initiatives to form more detailed partnerships wherever possible.
King's College London has the following College-level MoU:
Hong Kong University - Hong Kong
School-level partnerships
In addition to College-level partnerships, Schools may forge School-level partnerships. These will be based around or within a particular School, in our case the Dental Institute. They are funded and administered by the relevant Schools in line with their academic strategies and business plans, and are normally based around agreements for specific research or teaching purposes.
The Dental Institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with each of the following institutions:

Tokyo Medical and Dental - Japan
