21. Why wasn’t Franklin awarded a
Nobel Prize?
Franklin’s work was crucial but it
wasn’t the only crucial work. Whether eventually she
would have been named as a prize winner is ultimately a matter
for speculation. By the time the work was completed Franklin
had died tragically young and Nobel Prizes are not awarded
posthumously.
