In May, ICPS' Projects Director, Andy Barclay, and Management Consultant, Alistair Bailey, led a course in the "Management of Prison Support Programmes in Peace Operations" for the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) in Accra, Ghana. Last year, the course was developed & piloted by the ICPS consultants in partnership with DPKO with sponsorship from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, UK. The participants, under the leadership of Richard Kuuire, Corrections Adviser, DPKO (New York), were drawn from staff working in a number of Peace Keeping Missions including Chad, the Congo, Cote d' Ivoire, Timor-Liste, Haiti, Kosova, Liberia and Sudan. It is hoped that this successful course will be the first of a series of complimentary courses.
