The Barrow Cadbury Trust has published a new report on how young adults fare in the criminal justice system in England and Wales. “Lost in Transition Three Years On” reviews recent policy and practice developments relating to young people aged 16-25. Written by ICPS Director Rob Allen the review finds that despite government’s commitment to find the best approaches to the needs of this age group, progress on the recommendations made by the Trust’s Commission on Young Adults in the Criminal Justice System in 2005 has been modest. The Trust has now established a Transition to Adulthood Alliance to promote the case for a distinctive approach to offenders in this age group.
The report is available here.
