ICPS helps develop Diamond Initiative

The Diamond initiative is an innovative community based programme to help tackle the cycle of re-offending and revolving door of imprisonment . The London Criminal Justice Board (LCJB) has set up a two year pilot in six London Boroughs, drawing on ICPS’s work on justice re-investment which has demonstrated the potential to move money from the penal system into community initiatives.
To inform the development of the programme, two papers were commissioned from ICPS. The first provides a review of what information needs to be collected to establish the scheme while the purpose of the second is to distil learning about successful interventions with people leaving prison.
