Statutes and Statutory Regulations
The major statute law on coroners in England & Wales is the Coroners Act 1988, as amended since on a number of occasions, supplemented by the Coroners Rules 1984 (which deal with questions of practice and procedure; these have also been amended). Treasure is however dealt with by the Treasure Act 1996, and by a Code of Practice issued under that Act (but not having the force of law).
There are many other statutes and rules relevant to coroners, as well. Some of them are available on line, and links are provided here. You can buy all statutory material from The Stationery Office. The Treasure Act Code of Practice is available in hard copy form free from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.
Textbooks on coroners law usually set out the text of at least some of the relevant statutory material, but of course they can only contain material created before the date of publication. Jervis, Dorries and Levine all contain the main statutory material specifically referred to above (although only the first of these is completely up to date); Jervis also has relevant extracts from the Treasure Act Code of Practice and many other statutes and rules.
There are also books which specialise in source material. These include:
Knapman and Powers, Sources of Coroners Law, 1999, Barry Rose
Kavanagh, Coroners Rules and Statutes, 1985,
Sweet & Maxwell (now very out of date, as it was published
before the Coroners Act 1988 was enacted, but it has the Coroners
Rules 1984, so is still useful on that account).
