R (AMIN) v HOME SECRETARY; (MIDDLETON) v WEST SOMERSET CORONER [2002] EWCA Civ 390
The decision of the Court of Appeal is reported at [2003] QB 581, [2002] 4 All ER 336, and is also available on the bailii website. However, on 14 November 2002 leave to appeal was granted, to the family in the first case and to the Home Secretary in the second case, to appeal to the House of Lords, by Lords Steyn, Scott and Rodger: see [2002] 1 WLR 3383. The appeal in Amin was heard by the House of Lords on 14, 15 and 16 July 2003 and judgment was delivered on 16 October 2003, allowing the appeal: [2003] UKHL 51, [2003] 3 WLR 1169. The appeal in Middleton has not yet been heard, and is fixed for hearing in February 2004.
