Where to find coroners’ law
Coroners’ law can be hard to find. The major sources are (1) decided cases, (2) statutes, and (3) statutory regulations. There are a number of textbooks available as well. These try to set out the law to be drawn from the sources. Like all law books, they are published in small quantities compared with (say) popular fiction, and hence are relatively expensive to buy. However, most public libraries will have one or more of them available to consult or borrow.
Law can change very rapidly, and so law books are reissued in new editions
from time to time. You should therefore always look at the latest edition
available. An on-line update to one of
these textbooks, Jervis on Coroners, is available on these pages.
