Clara Fontdevila will give a presentation that aims at gaining insight into the mechanics of global quantification by making sense of the organisational dynamics behind the production of globally comparable learning data required by the Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) indicator framework. Despite the broad agreement on the centrality of learning measurement, the production of global learning data has been far from straightforward.

The presentation grapples with the difficulties encountered in the process – which have not been exclusively technical in nature – but stem also from the need to reconcile the multiple (and sometimes conflicting) agendas of the different organisations and data-suppliers partaking in the production of global statistics.
