The Schilizzi Foundation Awards

Eligibility criteria

  • Applications are invited from students of Greek nationality who have undertaken their secondary or higher education in Greece. Candidates should intend to return to Greece on completion of their King's programme. You should normally have received an offer of a place to study at the College before applying for a scholarship and plan to start your studies at King's in September 2009. The selection of the three successful candidates will be made primarily on merit, but the Trustees may wish on occasion to take other factors into account, such as applicants' family circumstances.

The Selection Committee will meet during the course of July and results will be posted to candidates in September 2008.

Funding provider
Madame Helena Venizelos (nee Schilizzi) played a major role, first in the establishment of the Koraes Chair of Modern Greek at the College in 1919 and later on, in the funding of the current Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies.
