Information about the funding
The Scholarships provide opportunities for British students to pursue postgraduate courses at universities or other appropriate institutions in Canada for a period of one year. They are intended for persons of high intellectual promise and of leadership potential who will play a full part in the life of the Canadian community which they visit and will return to play a full part in their own country.
History: These awards are offered by the Canada Memorial Foundation in memory of the one million Canadians who served with Great Britain during the First and Second World Wars. The awards are intended for persons of high academic promise and leadership potential who will play a full part in the life of the Canadian community which they visit and who will return to contribute fully to UK society. The Association of Commonwealth Universities administers the awards on behalf of the Canada Memorial Foundation.
Purpose: Awards are offered for postgraduate study leading to a university degree.
Length of Tenure: Awards are available for one year of taught study only at any university or other appropriate institution in Canada subject to the approval of the Canada Memorial Foundation. Awards are not offered for study at doctoral level.

The funds will cover:
- Maintenance allowance
- return airfare
- approved tuition fees
- books
- thesis costs
- travel
- and health insurance allowance
