Submitting your thesis
In 2006/07 the College first took on the administrative arrangements for the submission and examination of research degree theses from the University of London. The following arrangements now apply:- Students who will be submitting their examination entry form from now on should submit their form(s) and thesis directly to the College Examinations Office, 7th Floor, James Clerk Maxwell Building, Waterloo Campus (See web link below).
- Students who have already submitted their examination entry form via Senate House should continue to follow the UoL arrangements, for details of how to follow these and the relevant forms please contact the Research & Graduate School Support Office.
Further details, including all forms, for those students submitting their examination entry form can be found via the Examination Office website.
Please note that in both instances, students should submit their examination entry form at least four months prior to the submission of the thesis to allow time for the examination appointment process to take place.
Submission requirements
It is expected that the time between the submission of a thesis and the oral examination should not normally exceed 4 months. The supervisor arranging the oral examination should make enquiries with the examiners about suitable dates prior to submission of the thesis, and preferably at the time of nomination. The process of arranging the oral examination must begin as soon as the thesis is submitted.
If it appears likely that a date within the 4 month period cannot be found with the nominated examiners, the supervisor(s) should consider requesting the appointment of different examiners.
Please note that the resubmission fee for 2011-12 is set at £400.
