Supervisory Excellence Awards 2011/12
King’s College London currently has approximately 2300 Postgraduate Research students drawn from every continent around the world. Each year, on average, 400 postgraduate research students complete their degrees and graduate.
The Graduate School wishes to recognise the important role that supervisors play in these success stories, and reward excellence in supervisory practice. The SEA is one vehicle for achieving this.

Nominations are invited from postgraduate research students, Heads of Departments/Divisions, Heads of Graduate Studies and / or Heads of Schools. College awards
The Graduate School aims to recognise the selected candidates at an awards ceremony. In addition one supervisor will be selected from among the award winners, by the central panel, to receive the College's Supervisory Excellence Award, which will be presented to the winner at the College Award Ceremony in September.
Dissemination of Good Practice
To ensure good practice is disseminated as widely as possible, extracts from the personal supervisory practice statements may be summarised and included on the Graduate School website and in the Handbook for Supervisors. Selected candidates will be expected to input into the development and training of supervisors at College and School level (for more details please contact Dr Fiona Denney, Head of Graduate Development).
