Health is the dominant and unifying theme at King’s College London which is internationally recognised for excellence in biomedical and health research and training. King’s is the academic partner of King’s Health Partners, one of the UK's only six accredited Academic Health Sciences Centres.
Health related research and teaching spans four academic Faculties at King's.
The Faculties are responsible for the education of more than 10,000 health professions students, making King’s the largest centre for healthcare training in Europe. Teaching is supported by colleagues within our primary NHS Partner Trusts and associated NHS Trust across the south east of England.
King’s excellence in health research is well recognised. The 2014 REF confirmed King’s position as one of the top universities for impact of its health research.
The Health Faculties at King’s hosts more than 25 externally awarded centres of excellence (see Specialist Centres) including four NIHR Research Centres. King's is the only university in the UK to host a centre in every category.
King’s also has unique strengths in Social Science and Public Policy, Arts and Humanities and Law related to health.
