Help with RSS feeds

News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

RSS feeds on the King's site

There are two RSS feeds in use on the King's site: news stories published by Public Relations, and job vacancies published by Human Resources.

To subscribe to the feeds, see the RSS feed links on the following pages:

How can I receive King's RSS feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is a piece of software called a news reader.

1. Install a news reader

A news reader checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added.

There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications.

Browser-based news readers let you catch up with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer, whereas downloadable applications let you store them on your main computer, in the same way that you either download your email using Outlook, or keep it on a web-based service like Hotmail.

2. Add King's feeds to your reader

Once you have chosen a news reader, all you have to do is to decide what content you want it to receive.

For example, if you would like the latest stories from King's, simply visit the news highlights section and you will notice a link on the right of the page with the text News feed and a small orange button:
Link to RSS feed
When you select this link, the latest King's news stories in the feed will display.

On this page, there will be an option to subscribe to the feed. When you do this, you will have added the King's news feed to your reader.
