DEVELOPMENTAL NEUROBIOLOGY

The aim of the MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology is to understand the basis of the development of the nervous system and through this to understand the mechanisms that promote and limit regenerative processes.

NEURODEGENERATIVE RESEARCH

The MRC Centre for Neurodegenerative Research brings together scientists investigating the causative mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases, especially Alzheimer's disease and motor neurone disease in the laboratory, with clinical colleagues investigating patients and conducting clinical trials.

The MRC Social, Genetic and Development Psychiatry Centre is a unique multi-disciplinary institution that studies social epidemiology, child and adult psychiatry, developmental psychopathology, development in the family, personality traits, cognitive abilities, statistical genetics, and molecular genetics.

TRANSPLANTATION

The MRC Centre for Transplantation combines expertise in basic immunology and transplantation biology at King's with the large number of transplant patients looked after by the partner NHS Trusts of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and the King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
