NMR Facility Manager
Dr. Andrew Atkinson
Andrew studied chemistry at the University of Durham and worked under the supervision of Prof. R.J.P. Williams, FRS at the University of Oxford for his D.Phil. He worked as a post-doc and as staff scientist with Vladimir Saudek and Tom Pelton at the Marion Merrell Dow Research Centre in Strasbourg and then with Prof. Jean-François Lefevre at the Ecole Superieure de Biotechnologie de Strasbourg. After a post-doc with Annalisa Pastore at NIMR, London, he returned to Strasbourg as a CNRS research scientist at the IGBMC. He joined the Randall Division as NMR Facility Manager in May 2010.
He has used NMR and other biophysical techniques throughout his career to address a range of problems. He has interests in novel methods of data interpretation and the study of zinc-binding domains and maintains collaborations, notably with Dr. David Pugh, University of the Western Cape, South Africa
