Small research facilities

Small Research Facilities

SRFs are facilities within the College that although based in one School/Division are open to anyone to use. All facilities have a manager who is the contact for anyone wishing to use the services of that facility.

Genomics Facilities

There are two separate purpose built Genomics Facilities based on separate campuses. They each have some specialized and some overlapping equipment and they complement each other in that they are involved in different areas of genetics research.

  • Genomics FWB
  • Guy's Genomics Facility

Mass Spectrometry Facility

There are two separate facilities comprising the Centre of Excellence for Mass Spectrometry:

  • Mass Spectrometry Facility, FWB Waterloo
  • Proteomics Facility, Denmark Hill

Centre for Biomolecular Spectroscopy

The Centre for Biomolecular Spectroscopy was built and funded by a Capital Award from the Wellcome Trust to promote the study of biological macromolecules both in basic and medical science. The Centre comprises a set of facilities on Guy's Campus, providing expertise and state-of-the-art biophysical equipment including NMR and optical spectroscopy.

Genome Manipulation Facility

This facility provides a full range of services for the production of transgenic and gene targeted mice. Work is carried out in the BSU and in laboratories on the Guy’s Campus. For further information, please contact Forrest Liu.

Protein Production Facility

This facility is based in the Randall Division of Cell and Molecular Biophysics, New Hunt's House, Guy’s Campus.

For further information please contact Professor Brian Sutton.

X-Ray Crystallography (Randall)

This facility is based in the Structural Biology Section of the Randall Division of Cell and Molecular Biophysics, New Hunt's House, Guy’s Campus.

For further information please contact Professor Brian Sutton.

Cell Sorting Facility

This facility is located within the Centre for Molecular and Cellular Biology of Inflammation, New Hunt's House, Guy's Campus.

For further information please contact Celine Trouillet.

Intravital Microscope

This is housed within the Centre for Molecular and Cellular Biology of Inflammation, New Hunt's House, Guy's Campus.

For further information please contact Celine Trouillet.
