Arts & Sciences Research Office

What we do

The Arts and Sciences Research Office offers expert guidance to staff on all aspects of making grant applications and securing research funding. If you’re planning to submit an application you should aim to make contact with the appropriate member of staff at the earliest opportunity.

The earlier you contact us, the more effectively we can support you in the following ways:

  • Helping you find an appropriate sponsor and scheme for your research idea.
  • Advising on the steps involved in putting together a research application.
  • Helping you think through what resources you may need for your project.
  • Giving advice on draft sections of the application.
  • Enabling internal peer review systems so that you may improve your application in the light of feedback from academic colleagues.
  • Bringing researchers with similar interests together in response to major funding initiatives.
  • Signposting sources of further information and support both within the College and externally.
