It’s true that there are lots of opportunities to spend your money, and some expenses are slightly higher than in other cities. However, it is also much cheaper to live in London as a full-time student with the large range of discounts available on almost everything - for instance, from 30 per-cent off public transport to theatre tickets. With a little care and imagination, your money will reach further than you think!It’s important to ensure that you are financially prepared for your studies in order to avoid difficulties associated with insufficient funding. To provide prospective students with a very loose estimate of what living costs might be, these figures have been calculated to give you an idea of the potential costs involved to help you plan your expenses in advance:
Estimated expenses per year:
International students £11,100 - between £800-1000 per month
Couple: £17,200
These amounts are based on accommodation, food, travel and spending money. However, they exclude tuition fees, which you will need to take into account separately.
