Our experts regularly attend The Cheltenham Science Festival and the British Science Festival which have gained a reputation for showcasing some of the most outstanding scientists and science personalities in the country.
Young People’s School Project - we are committed to working with our local community and inspiring the next generation of mental health professionals; part of this remit includes our yearly Young People’s School Project. 60 pupils from local schools in Southwark and Lambeth attend a two-day event which includes talks, discussions and workshops hosted by experts in psychiatry, psychology and mental health nursing. Our aim is to challenge young people’s perceptions about mental illness and encourage them to consider higher education in this area.

Art Exhibitions at the SGDP most exhibiting artists are local and connected to mental health through work, as a carer or current/former service user.
Mindsearch connects academic researchers at the IoP with volunteers from the general public to participate in research projects. It provides an opportunity for those interested in defeating mental illness and neurological disease to make a valuable contribution towards this aim.
