Benzodiazepines, z-drugs and codeine products

The changing use of prescribed benzodiazepines and z-drugs and of over-the-counter codeine-containing products in England: a structured review of published English and international evidence and available data to inform consideration of the extent of dependence and harm (May 2011)

 

The National Addiction Centre in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Bristol and funded by the Department of  Health conducted a review of the changing use of prescribed benzodiazepines and z-drugs and of over-the-counter codeine-containing products in England. This review of published evidence and analysis of available data informed consideration of the extent of dependence and harm. This review was made available online in May 2011, to request a copy of the report, please contact us
