Funded by the London Development Agency and the European Social Fund, the overall aim of this recently established project is to improve the accessibility of higher education and training in healthcare to London's intrinsically resident population. In other words, to enable more people with family and social roots in London to pursue a career in nursing. This website is a "one-stop-shop" and has been designed to help Londoners decide if nursing is a suitable career option. From here, it is possible to visit a wide range of London colleges and universities offering Access to Nursing and the Diploma/Degree in Nursing respectively. Potential students can hear what current mature students have to say about life as a university student nurse and do on-line activities to help crystallise their thoughts, identify strengths and weaknesses and take the next step towards nurse education. Current Access students can book onto a two-day summer school aimed at bridging the transition between college and university.
