Undergraduate - SSC Psychiatric Research
The SSC is hosted by the
Department of Psychological Medicine at the Institute of Psychiatry The Head of Department is Professor Simon Wessely who is also Vice Dean for Academic Psychiatry. SSC Psychiatry Research aims to introduce King’s medical students to the excitement and challenges of academic research psychiatry.
It consists of two linked modules:
Module 1
This is a seminar-based teaching programme and engages students in writing a systematic literature review.
Module 2
This provides an opportunity to experience first hand academic psychiatry research through participating in a data-based project with one of the IoP research teams.
Students may choose to enrol for Module 1 only, but Module 1 is a necessary prerequisite to Module 2.
