Visiting researchers
The Dickson Poon School of Law welcomes visiting academics from other universities to share in and contribute to the research culture of the School. Visitors typically stay for around three to six months and will have access to the College's library and electronic resources, and will be offered hotdesking space within the School's fantastic new home, Somerset House. More senior visitors will be provided with office space in Somerset House. Visitors to the School will be self-funding, or funded by their home institution.

Visiting Fellows
Visiting Fellows are likely to be professors (or the equivalent) at their home institution and will have a strong record of international research. They must be able to demonstrate a need to work in London and will be able to show a desire to network and build research collaborations. They should be willing to make a contribution to the research culture of the School by, at the very minimum, delivering a School research seminar. They must be 'sponsored' by a member of School staff who will personally support the application and will support the visitor whilst at King's. A list of School academic staff can be found here.
Office space will be made available to Visiting Fellows.
Application process
Prospective Visiting Fellows will be asked to apply with:
-
a short CV (two to three pages)
-
a clear, well-developed research proposal which makes it clear why the applicant needs to undertake research in London
-
a covering letter which states how long the applicant would like to visit the School for and who their proposed sponsor is.
At the same time, their sponsor must write a letter of support. Therefore, the prospective Visiting Fellow should have contacted their intended sponsor prior to application. Complete applications will then be considered by the School Research Committee.
The following deadlines apply:
-
For those wishing to start their visit at any point between January and June: application by end of previous September.
-
For those wishing to start their visit at any point between July and December: application by end of March.
Applications and letters of support should be sent to Lindsey McBrayne.
