Profile
Professor Redston is a Visiting Professor at King’s College London. She is a practicing barrister who is a tenant at Temple Tax Chambers. She also sits on the First-tier tax and social entitlement Tribunals. She is a member of the editorial board of Taxation magazine, of various HM Revenue and Customs consultative committees and of the Technical Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants' Tax Faculty. She has written widely on tax issues and is frequently quoted in the press and broadcast media.
Research
Her particular interests include the structure of the tax system as it impacts on the citizen; the tension between tax complexity and the rights of the taxpayer, and the different tax policy treatment of alternative business structures.
Selection of publications
Anne is the Consultant Editor of Tolley's Yellow Tax Handbook, and author of IR35, Personal Service Companies. She has contributed chapters to the tax encyclopaedia Simon’s Taxes and to Bramwell's Taxation of Companies and Company Reconstructions. She has written numerous articles on tax issues for a range of journals including Taxation, British Tax Review and Tax Journal.
