The Centre of European Law has a fine and long tradition of teaching and research into all areas of European Union Law. Established in 1974 it celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2014. The Centre enjoys a reputation of excellence for its distinguished programme of public events and for its Postgraduate education.

  • Common law lawyers and their influence on EU Law

Professor Sir Francis Jacobs QC, KCMG, President of the Centre of European Law requests the pleasure of your company on the occasion of the 40th birthday of the Centre of European Law.

As part of the celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of the Centre, we will be pleased to welcome his Honour Justice Vassilios Skouris, the President of the European Court of Justice, for a distinguished lecture. The Rt Hon Lord Mance PC will be in the chair.

COEL-40th-Anniversary-Graphic-31The lecture will take place on 1 October 2014 (which is the date of the establishment of the Centre) at 6.15 pm in the Edmond Safra Lecture Theatre, Strand Campus, King’s College London, WC2R 2LS and will be followed by an address and drinks reception.
