Careers & Alumni “I have just finished a PhD in European Law at King's where I had a three years scholarship from the Centre of European Law. The Dickson Poon School of Law offered me the best possible support to help me successfully finish my PhD. I am now a Lecturer in Law at the University of Sheffield and my thesis will be soon published as a monograph. I am tremendously indebted to King’s and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone thinking about pursuing a PhD.”
– Dr Diego Acosta

We place a strong emphasis on the all-round development of our doctoral researchers. Our supervisors help guide their researchers through life as early career academics – recommending conferences, making introductions and giving advice on publications and job applications.

Recent graduates of the programme have secured academic positions at institutions such as the University of Oxford, Queen Mary University of London and the University of Amsterdam. Others have taken up positions in public administration or returned to private practice as specialists. Our developing Graduate Research Alumni Network aims to keep our graduates in touch throughout their careers to share opportunities with fellow King’s alumni.
