Born 1921; served World War Two, 1939-1945; Lt and Intelligence Officer in 41 Royal Marine Commando during the invasion of Sicily and Salerno; Capt; died 1978.

PROVENANCE

Presented to the Centre by the family in 1987.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

The collection comprises papers relating to the part played by 41 Royal Marine Commando in the Allied invasions of Sicily and Salerno, Italy, 1943, and includes the official war diary of the unit for both operations, as well as some intelligence summaries and photographs concerning Sicily, and War Office maps of southern Italy.
