LIDDELL HART CENTRE FOR MILITARY ARCHIVES: Letters written 1968-1974 describing incidents in his service as General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Aldershot Command, and the reasons for the lack of sufficient tanks in 1940 (one file); the papers of Capt Sir Basil Henry Liddell Hart include correspondence with Broad 1928-1966 (Ref: LH 1/108); the Liddell Hart papers also include correspondence 1948-1958 relating to Liddell Hart's The tanks. The history of the Royal Tank Regiment (Cassell, London, 1959) (ref: LH 9/28/22, 32-35); the papers of Maj Gen George Mackintosh Lindsay include a report by Broad as Deputy Director of Staff Duties, to the Director of Staff Duties, July 1929, on the possibility of expanding the Royal Tank Corps to form four tank brigades (ref: LH 15/12); the Lindsay papers also include correspondence with Broad 1929-1932, on mechanisation and the tactical deployment of armoured forces (ref: LH 15/12); The Lindsay papers also include correspondence between Maj Gen George Mackintosh Lindsay, Broad and FM Sir Edmund Ironside, Sep-Dec 1939, on tank warfare (ref: LH 15/12); Broad informed the Centre in 1968 that most of his military papers had been destroyed
