3.3.1 Scope and content: Papers relating to the Japanese and British capture of the German possession of Tsingtao, North China, during World War One, and a subsequent visit to Japan, 1914; papers created during command of 39 Div, 1915-1916; papers relating to post as Chief of British Military Mission to Portugal, including personal diaries, and correspondence relating to discussions held by Barnardiston on Belgian neutrality in 1906, 1916-1919.
