The Maughan Library at the Strand campus is home to American studies, Australian studies, Byzantine & modern Greek, classics, cultural & creative industries, digital culture & technology, English, European studies, film studies, French, geography, German, history, linguistics, music, philosophy, Portuguese & Brazilian studies, Spanish & Spanish-American studies, theology & religious studies, war studies, law (including the Institute of Taxation's Tony Arnold Library), medical ethics, computer science, engineering, mathematics and physics.

Audiotours

This service gives a unique personal tour of the library with both practical information about using the library and some historical information about the building. Players and headphones are available in the ground floor lift lobby (G.12) during desk opening hours.

The Rolls cafe is located on the lower ground floor.

College members can also listen to CDs or view region two DVDs on any Student Computing workstation. Headphones for this purpose are available from the Service desk. All audiocassettes, videocassettes, DVDs, CDs and vinyl records are held in this area. Audio and video cassettes of the AKC lectures from the previous five years are also available.

Access: Equipment is open access to all. Vinyl records are on open access and available to all. CDs, videocassettes, DVDs and audiocassettes are in security cases and must be taken to the Service desk and issued, so are available to members only.

Bike sheds

There is a covered bicycle shed with 16 Sheffield racks (for push bikes only) to the right of the front gate entrance. Additional standard racks are also available.

Lockers

Lockers are available in rooms LG.53, 1.21, 1.29, 2.2, 2.21

Lockers are allocated on a first come, first served basis with details advertised throughout the library. A £20.00 deposit will be required. A number of lockers are being kept aside, so if you have a disability and would find a locker useful, please contact either Sally Brock (sally.brock@kcl.ac.uk) or Nigel Baker (nigel.baker@kcl.ac.uk).
