Widening Participation

Lead: Laura Ingham (Acting Manager, Outreach for Medicine)

Outreach for Medicine at King’s College London works with students from non-selective state schools in London, providing a diverse programme of events to encourage and enable bright, committed students to study Medicine. We work alongside King’s flagship Widening Participation course, the Extended Medical Degree Programme (EMDP), and in collaboration with the Enhanced Support Dentistry Programme (ESDP) in the Dental Institute.

Outreach for Medicine offers free events for science students from Years 7-11 who have shown interest in medicine and healthcare, and for sixth form students who wish to explore the practice of Medicine and other allied healthcare professions in more depth and be supported in making realistic and competitive applications to university.

Many of the events run by Outreach for Medicine are kindly supported by the Worshipful Company of Barbers.
