Adrian Hayday

Division of Immunology, Infection & Inflammatory Disease

adrian haydayOn behalf of DIIID, I warmly welcome you all to our annual post-graduate symposium. This is one of the Division’s annual highlights as it brings together the breadth of our research endeavour, and serves as a potent illustration of all your talent. As an academic, nothing is more rewarding than witnessing the scientific progression of PhD students through to successful graduation, and then onwards to bigger and better things. Students are right at the core of academic scholarship, and you are one of its most important and enduring legacies. Today we celebrate and appreciate all your collective talent and hard work. However, this is your day, so I ask that you all embrace the opportunity to showcase your research, and demand that you have an enjoyable and stimulating day. Cheers, Adrian

Steven Sacks

Division of Transplant Immunology and Mucosal Biology & MRC Centre for Transplantation

“Welcome to what I consider to be a highlight of the postgraduate training scheme at KCL. Today's programme provides us with an excellent opportunity to examine our wares and to see how individuals can flourish given the opportunity and environment. It's also a reflection of the large array of Immunology available at our institute and a return on investment of the mentorship scheme supported by the different areas of our divisions. Please be encouraged by the diversity of interests.  Maintaining focus and digging deep is very important when you have a positive lead in your research, but to develop new ideas and ways of thinking it is also important to keep a broad view of science and import new ideas into an established furrow of work. All the best with your research and have a great day!“
