Stroke Research Programme

To explore the lay epidemiology of prevention of stroke and of the illness.
To establish the aetiology and epidemiology of the subtypes of stroke in different ethnic groups.
To understand the relationship between impairment, activity, participation and to develop appropriate methods to measure them.
To develop and conduct randomised controlled trials in the fields of prevention, acute management and rehabilitation of stroke.
To investigate ways of implementing findings and influencing policy.
