Curriculum management
The Division leads on the management and development of the undergraduate MBBS curriculum. We aim to be inclusive, seeking views on the curriculum both externally and internally, from students, foundation doctors, members of the School of Medicine and NHS teachers.
We are a responsible for a number of innovative entry routes to medicine alongside the conventional MBBS. In September 2004 we launched the Graduate and Professional Entry Programme (GPEP), a four-year fast track MBBS programme open to all graduates, the Extended Medical Degree Programme (EMDP) was launched in 2001. It is a national flagship for programmes designed to widen access to medicine.
All members of the Division are involved in the development, administration, assessment and delivery of teaching.
The Division links closely to other organisers and Year Heads of the undergraduate programme through the Medical Education Committee and the Medical Education Committee Executive chaired by Division Head, Professor Janice Rymer.
