Research degrees

Through our 10 Research Divisions, comprising over 300 principal investigators, many at the cutting edge of their field, the School of Medicine offers unrivalled opportunities for graduate research.

Our graduate research community comprises 300 graduate research students, 30 per cent of these international students. Every student benefits from the Graduate School Researcher Development Programme which helps students develop generic and subject-specific skills. Effective mentoring and supervision ensure our students progress well.

The School of Medicine has the highest PhD completion rates in the UK.

Through research council and charitable funding, the School offers funded studentship opportunities. For information on current opportunities, visit the Health Schools' Studentships pages.

For more information on our research staff interests, please visit our online prospectus.
