Brighter futures? An evaluation of the Family Nurse Partnership Programme in England

Dr Julia Sanders has worked as a midwife since 1986. In 1998 she became the first midwife to be awarded a Medical Research Council Special Training Fellowship in Health Services Research. In 2005 Julia took up post of Consultant Midwife in Cardiff, where she acts as the lead clinician for Midwifery-Led Care including two Midwifery-Led Units that have around 1,500 births annually. Since November 2008 Julia has worked half time with the South East Wales Trials Unit as Senior Project Manager for Building Blocks, a £4.9m randomised trial evaluating the Family Nurse partnership in England.
