The Centre for the Study of Political Community at King`s College London would like to invite you to the first event in a new seminar series on “Democracy after the War on Terror”. Professor Sadik al-Azm will speak about the current uprising in Syria and the Wider Middle East, and reflect on its impacts on the region’s political and ideological landscape, from democratisation to nationalism and Islamism. Professor al-Azm is one of the most notable contemporary Middle Eastern thinkers, and is emeritus professor of European Philosophy at the University of Damascus. He is currently a fellow at the University of Bonn, Germany.
