The 2nd annual Euro ISME conference will be held on 14th & 15th of June 2012 at the UK Defence Academy / JSCSC in Shrivenham.

The conference theme will be "Military Ethics and the Responsibility to Protect: A Statement of Universal Values or Ethical Imperialism?" This is expected to embrace papers on multiple areas, including how technology is affecting military operations, the impact of the new age of austerity on assumptions and aspirations, crisis management interventions, common ethical approaches, what is included in our understanding of intervention, exploring how ethical issues away from home may be (or appear to be) different to those at home.

As always, papers will be welcomed on any theme related to military or defence ethics in addition to this broad theme. Please submit proposals, including at least a half page outline, to admin@euroisme.org. Priority will be given to fully developed/completed papers. To maximise the time available for discussion, it is expected that most papers will be limited to 20 minutes length.
