We are delighted to announce that the 2012 Cicely Saunders Lecture will be given by Dr Kathleen M Foley on Thursday 3 May 2012.
Kathy Foley is Professor of Neurology, Neuroscience and Clinical Pharmacology at Weill Cornell Medical College, and attending neurologist in the Pain & Palliative Care Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She is Medical director of the International Palliative Care Initiative of the Open Society Public Health Program and was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences for her national and international efforts in the treatment of patients with cancer pain. She is the past director of the Project on Death in America, which worked to transform the culture of dying in the United States through initiatives in research, scholarship, and clinical care.
