Guy's Campus: Update at 18.00 29 April
28 Apr 2008, PR 77/08 Further advice from the Trust and EDF (the power company) suggests that, as relayed earlier, we still anticipate that full normal services on the Guy's Campus will resume tomorrow Wednesday 30 April.
Staff and students should report to the Guy's Campus as originally scheduled.

Guy's Power Failure Update: 29 April, 12.00
The Guy's Campus will continue on emergency power for the rest of today (29 April). New Hunt's House, Boland House and the Greenwood Theatre will remain closed. As stated yesterday this means that no classes will be held in any of these buildings, but teaching has been relocated to other venues. Further details can be found at:

Staff working in buildings on the rest of the Campus are still requested to ensure that power consumption in offices etc is kept to a minimum.
Following discussions between the Trust and the power company early this morning there is an expectation that power and a full service will be restored by the start of the working day tomorrow, Wednesday 30 April.
All staff and students should attend the Campus as normal. If there is any change to this information we will advise again at 18.00 today.
Advice to all those affected, including students scheduled for lectures in the Greenwood Theatre, is therefore to check the College home page after 18.00.

Guy's Power Failure Update: 28 April, 15.30
Following the latest site incident meeting it is confirmed that New Hunt's House and the Greenwood Theatre will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday 29 April. Therefore no classes will be held in either of these buildings, but teaching has been relocated to other venues.

Activities in other buildings on the Guy's Campus are expected to continue as normal and this will be kept under review, but with the following important exception:
Dental Institute
All activity for dental students at Guy's Campus only has been cancelled for Tuesday 29 April. Activity at St Thomas's and Denmark Hill Campuses will be unaffected.
King's Dental Institute clinicians based at Guy's should report as normal.
A further update on this situation will be made available by 12.00 on Tuesday.

Guy's Campus power failure - 12.30
Following a flood at a sub station in the London Bridge area the Guy's Campus is without mains power. Current advice from the power company is that this problem may not be resolved until the end of the week.
To protect critical services a decision has been taken to close New Hunt's House and the Greenwood Theatre and we are keeping under review the occupancy of other buildings.
Wolfson House is expected to be open between the hours of 18.00 and 08.00 but residents will be required to vacate the building outside those hours.
We are reviewing contingency plans to relocate teaching to other campuses where possible.
Services on the other campuses are unaffected and students are advised to use these facilities where possible.
