Cafe Scientifique: Alzheimer’s disease – a quest for a cure.

The aim of the IoP Cafe Scientifique is to get the South London community in contact with scientists and clinicians at the Institute of Psychiatry in a relaxed atmosphere, encouraging the exchange of knowledge, ideas and science.

Dr Amy Pooler, an expert on Alzheimer’s disease, will explain the pathology of this devastating disorder as well as highlight current therapies and research advances in the field. Dr Pooler is an established researcher who has worked at Brown University (USA), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), Oxford University and is currently at the Institute of Psychiatry. Dr Pooler has 11 years experience on different aspects of Alzheimer’s disease research.

The event will take place on Thursday 9th February 2012 from 6.30 to 8pm, in Seminar room 1 by the Institute’s entrance. Free drinks and nibbles will be served during the discussions!
