The Government's 'street triage'initiative - which sees mental health nurses accompany police officers to incidents where people need mental health support - could reduce police detentions without increasing cost to the public purse, suggests a new study by researchers from King's College London.

'Grit' adds little to prediction of academic achievement

Description
Personality characteristics – especially conscientiousness - have previously been shown to have a significant but moderate influence on academic achievement. However, a new study from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King's College London, suggests that 'grit', defined as perseverance and passion for long-term goals, adds little to the prediction of school achievement.

King's takes issues of race equality very seriously. Our most up to date analysis shows that the attainment gap at King's between home undergraduate BME students and White students achieving first class or upper second class degrees on standard degree programmes* in 2014/15 is 12%.
