International team hosts regional welcome events
Posted on 26/10/2012
In October the International Marketing and Student Advice teams entertained students from various regions at a number of welcome events. Students from China, India, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America attended, along with student ambassadors from those regions.
Arriving in London as an international student is an exciting and challenging time. These events took place after the first busy couple of weeks of term were over to provide support and remind students about opportunities King's.
Our support services for international students
The events started with an official welcome to King’s by a member of the International Marketing team. New students were informed about the variety of services available at King’s from the Compass, Student Advice and KCLSU (our student union) to the English and Modern Language Centres and the Graduate School. Students were also given tips about how to make the most of their time while here.
Shared stories
Once the official part was over, new students, staff and the student ambassadors shared stories of their journeys to King’s. Members of staff were delighted to welcome the new students, many of whom they had met at recruitment events over the last year.
King’s International Student Advisors were also happy to meet so many of the students they had assisted with visa and other queries over the past months. They also provided safety advice and ideas on how to make the most of London.
