The Department of Informatics recently held an image competition. The competition ran from January to the end of June this year and all students, staff and alumni were invited to enter. Prizes were awarded in two categories: “Life as a King’s Informatics Student” and “Research at King’s Department of Informatics”. Visually striking and creative entries were encouraged and there were some really imaginative submissions.

In the category “Life as a King’s Informatics Student” there were two winners: Alo Roosing, an Informatics MSc student, for his entry "An idealised vision of the mind of an INFORMATICS student at King's College London" and Elena-Corina Celoiu, a first year Informatics undergraduate, for her entry “Coffee and revision”. In the category “Research at King’s Department of Informatics”, the winner was Gbolahan Williams, an Informatics PhD student, for his entry “Trinity”. Gbolahan was also commended for his entry “Sometimes your ideas lift you up”.

Alo and Elena-Corina each received a £150 Amazon voucher and Gbolahan won an iPod Touch. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who submitted entries!

All of the image competition entries can be seen on the Department of Informatics facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/kclinformatics.
