Biography
Alexander Pushnitski completed his PhD at St.Petersburg State University in 1998 under the supervision of Prof. M.Sh.Birman. He came to the UK in 1999 to take up a postdoctoral research position at Sussex University. From 1999 - 2005 Alexander worked as a lecturer at Loughborough University, and in 2005 he moved to King's. He spent the 2005/2006 academic year at the California Institute of Technology as a Leverhulme Research Fellow. In 2011 Alexander was awarded the Whitehead Prize by the London Mathematical Society. Alexander was promoted to Reader in 2011.
Alexander Pushnitski has held research visiting positions in Germany, France, Sweden, USA, Canada, Japan and Chile, published over 30 research papers and supervised one postdoc and two PhD students.
